Congratulations! You've decided to launch a podcast!
You've recorded a trailer or your very first episode.
Now you're asking, “How do I get my podcast into Apple and Spotify?”
You don't upload your mp3s directly to iTunes or Spotify.
For that you need a media host.
I recommend *Captivate, *Buzzsprout, or Libsyn (*I earn commissions from purchases through these links).
After uploading and releasing your first episode or trailer in your media host, the next step is to submit the show to various pocast directories.
Below is my list of the most popular places your show should be included to help gain maximum exposure.
How to submit your podcast to the Top 10 Podcast Directories (updated February 2024)
1. Apple Podcasts
(aka: iTunes on Windows computers)
- Create a free Apple account on https://podcastsconnect.apple.com
- Click the purple + symbol
- Select “New Show” from the drop-down list
- Select “Add a show with a RSS feed” and click Next
- Add your RSS feed
- Click “Validate”
- Click “Submit”
- Wait for Apple to accept your submission…then tell the world!
BONUS! The following directories pull from Apple’s API (so you won't need to submit to them): BeyondPod, Downcast, iCatcher, Overcast, Podcast Addict, Pocket Casts, Podcast Republic, and Podcruncher
