How to Change the © Copyright Date in Libsyn

Many podcasters like to include the current year as part of their copyright information on their website and in their podcast RSS feed.

Here is an example of where you would see the Copyright field in Apple Podcasts:

If you submitted a libsyn RSS feed to iTunes, Stitcher, and other places then you can update all the directories at one time with the following procedure:

Note: I will also show you how to use the © symbol (see the end of this post).

Step 1: Log into libsyn.com and click Settings

Click on the gears located under the Settings tab in the banner and select “Edit Show Settings”

Step 2: Change your copyright information

Scroll down to the Copyright Notice field and change the information. If you'd like to include the year, enter it somewhere after the ©.

If you have been releasing podcasts for more than a year, you could enter something like © 2010-2017.

Tip: Save yourself time next year by not including date-specific information at all.

Step 3: Click Save

That's it! You're done.

Allow 24-48 hours for most of the podcatchers to update their directories.

Using the Copyright symbol: How to find © on your keyboard

Actually, the © isn't on a traditional keyboard.

Here is how you can create the © symbol on your computer:

If you are using a Mac:

Option – G

Using a Windows machine:

If you have a numeric keyboard then hold down the ALT key while typing 0169

No numeric keyboard? You may need to get the owner's manual out. Just kidding. To open up the Character Map Utility on a Windows machine select Programs » Accessories » System Tools » Character Map.

…or just take a shortcut by copying it from here:    ©
